Hop in the van, we’re going on a road trip!

I felt bad for about half a second before grabbing this off the new books shelf at the library. Sure, it’s for babies and toddlers (and parents) but I feel no shame. It’s a great little book!
First, just look at that cover with the title spelled out in different colors, and the groovy camper van decorated with national park stickers. Trees and flowers hug each side of the road as the van heads out under a beautiful blue sky.
If I were a toddler I’d be eager to dig into this book based on the cover. A colorful adventure awaits!
The art is by Jenny Miriam who is based in the UK. Everything is soft but vibrant. I wonder how she chose the colors to showcase: purple, brown, blue, green, orange, yellow, white, black and pink.
This is a board book / picture book with thick pages for tiny fingers. It would be fun to read to a little one to see which colors they respond to. Would it be the soft pinks and yellows of the Yellowstone sky or perhaps the purples and blues of the Great Smoky Mountains?
Treat your kid and yourself to this colorful coast-to-coast tour of some of the most spectacular places in the USA.
